I. Project on Learning Glossary:

• From 2020 to 2021: a total of 45,948 words and example sentences across 16 groups and 42 indigenous languages are revised, with 168 revision committee members of 42 languages participating in 19 meetings.
• In April 2022, we issued the revision of the 42 indigenous languages learning glossaries.

 

II. The Online Indigenous Language Dictionary:

• So far, there are 133,921 terms in the 16-language dictionary.
• From 2020 to 2021, we completed the expansion of the cloud-based hosts and the 42-language dictionary editing system. We also held 6 editing workshops, conducted online promotion activities, and added interactive learning games, which were visited by more than 300 people.
• The online indigenous language dictionary has added downloadable dictionaries sorted by Chinese language index for the convenience of beginners.

 

III. Indigenous Language Writing System and Writing Guidelines

(1) The revision consensus condition of the indigenous language writing system:

• In 2020: we held meetings with various indigenous language promotion organizations, totally 8 meetings with 61 participants to complete the proposed revised writing system for 2020.
• In 2021: we held 9 meetings to explain the 2020 revision of the writing system to the indigenous groups, and completed the 2021 version of the new 16 groups 42 languages writing system.
• In 2022: we made confirmation with every group and conducted an impact assessment report prior to the announcement of the revision of the writing system.

(2) Indigenous Language Writing Guideline:

• 2020:

1. We established multilingual writing guidelines - the Amis language writing guidelines, with 59 participants in 10 sessions and we held another 5 sessions of consulting on the process and cooperation mechanism of writing guidelines, totally 61 participants.
2. We completed the Amis language writing guideline (trial version).

• 2021:

1. We held 15 research and analysis meetings to conduct writing guidelines for every groups and establish a new version of the writing guideline framework.
2. We completed the 16 indigenous group language writing guidelines (trial version).
3. In 2022, we will continue to work with every language promotion organization to reach a consensus on writing guidelines and make adjustment depends on demands.
